I was very delighted to hear that Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa was granted
the UN-Habitat Scroll of Honour Award for his praiseworthy efforts in improving Bahraini people's
standards of living. The award derives its unquestionable worth from the fact that it was bestowed by
an international organization which is keenly dedicated to upgrading people's urban environment and
housing conditions.

Besides, the award, which is an international acknowledgement of the prime minister's efforts to
ensure Bahraini people's comfort, will delight and encourage him to achieve more for his people.

The award is also a recognition of Bahrain's viable policies and tendencies which were visibly backed
by the prime minister and helped the kingdom attain higher human development standards than many
other countries with more financial resources.

Such noteworthy accomplishments are owed to the Bahraini leadership's sagacity and awareness of
the necessity for human development.

We believe that though Bahrain, like any other country, has its own problems, we are optimistic that
honest cooperation and solidarity will help us overcome all difficulties and resolve all problems.
