Riyadh, Sept. 10 (BNA): The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in cooperation with Cooperative Societies Council, is organising in the Philippines the "Agricultural and Rural Tourism Industry" programme for distinguished farmers in the agricultural terraces project.
The programme aims to explore the experience of the Philippines in the agro-touristic industry and benefit from the outputs of the programme to support the agricultural terraces initiative carried out by the ministry, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Undersecretary of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture for Agriculture Ahmed Al-Ayadah said that this programme includes a meeting with officials of the tourism sector of The Philippines on the stages of development of the agricultural and rural tourism industry, and its economic, social and environmental impact on the development and sustainability of The Philippines countryside.
The "Rehabilitation of Agriculture Terraces and Application of Rain Water Collection Technologies in the South Western Area of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia" initiative is one of the National Transformation Programmes that aims to ensure sustainable food security for Saudi Arabia.
