January 14th,Bahrain is well qualified to be a focus for family tourism and leisure in the Gulf, the Premier said at the opening ceremony of Muharraq Land. His Highness planted the project's first palm tree adding that the Muharraq Land project represented the upgrading of tourism facilities in Bahrain in general, and in Muharraq particular. He welcomed the involvement of the Kuwaiti private sector in the development. The project is located over an area of 93,618sqm. It will include a recreation park, different kinds of rides and games, gardens, walkways, an external clinic offering free medical services, a hotel, restaurants and cafes. The investors also have indicated that a bowling hall with 45 lanes will be built .
Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland-Medical University of Bahrain
(RCSI-MUB) campus in Busaiteen, was officially opened today by Prime Minister Shaikh
Khalifa and the Irish president Mary McAleese.

Board chairman Dr Faisal Al Moosawi said more such a
university were needed in Bahrain due to the rapid growth of the
healthcare sector. "The university has facilities to teach 2,000
students in its new
Muharraq campus. It will offer admissions to Bahrainis, GCC citizens
and students from other nationalities," he told a Press conference at
the RCSI-MUB. He said 90 per cent of the students in the university's
nursing school and 40pc in its medical school were Bahrainis. RCSI-MUB
president Kevin O'Malley said the first batch of doctors
and nurses to serve in Bahrain hospitals would be graduating by June,
2010.
