MANAMA, JAN. 19, (BNA) CULTURE AND INFORMATION MINISTER SHAIKHA MAI BINT MOHAMMED AL KHALIFA PAID TODAY A VISIT TO HILLAT ABDUL SALEH VILLAGE AS PART OF I LOVE MY NATION, I LOVE MY VILLAGE PROJECT.
SHAIKHA MAI STRESSED IN A SPEECH THE IMPORTANCE OF VILLAGES AS A HUMAN EXTENSION OF THE NATION AND A SOURCE OF PATRIOTISM AND NATIONAL HERITAGE.
THE VILLAGES IN BAHRAIN ARE SMALL TOWNS WHICH HAVE FOR CENTURIES CRADLED SCIENTISTS, INTELLECTUALS AND INNOVATORS, SHE SAID.
IN EVERY VILLAGE THERE IS A SCHOOL AND SCIENTIST AND AT EVERY CORNER THERE IS A FERTILE LAND FOR INTELLECTUAL PRODUCTION, SHE ADDED.
SUCH SMALL TOWNS HAVE INTERMINGLED TO FORM WITH URBAN AREAS ONE NATION AND ONE HARMONIOUS HUMAN TEXTURE, SHAIKHA MAI EMPHASIZED.
I LOVE MY NATION, I LOVE MY VILLAGE PROJECT WILL CONTINUE TO COVER ALL VILLAGES IN BAHRAIN IN TERMS OF BEAUTIFICATION, AFFORESTATION, DEVELOPMENT AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES, SHE STRESSED POINTING OUT TO AL MALIKIYA VILLAGE AS THE NEXT STOP.
ON BEHALF OF THE VILLAGERS, ADEL MARHOUN GAVE A SPEECH IN WHICH HE THANKED SHAIKHA MAI FOR HER EFFORTS VOICING CONFIDENCE IN HER ENDEAVOUR TO SERVE THE NATION AND ITS CITIZENS.
AT THE END, COMMEMORATIVE GIFTS WERE DISTRIBUTED ON CHILDREN FROM THE VILLAGE.
