HM King Hamad Arrives in Riyadh

Riyadh, May 10. (BNA) – His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa arrived here today to Saudi Arabia where he will head the Kingdom’s delegation to the 13th Consultative Summit of the GCC Supreme Council set to be held at the Conferences Hall in Dariya.

Upon arrival at the Riyadh Airbase, HM the King was received mainly by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdulla bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Riyadh Governor Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Saudi Foreign Affairs Minister Prince Saud Al Faisal, Deputy Interior Minister Prince Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, other senior Saudi officials, GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and the Kingdom’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

On the occasion, HM King Hamad took pride at being invited by King Abdulla to take part in the 13th GCC Consultative Summit, noting that the situation is back to normal in the kingdom thanks to the courageous decisions made by GCC leaders who agreed to deploy Peninsula Shield troops and Bahrain and set up the Gulf Development Centre, which, HM said, testifies to the fraternal bonds linking GCC countries and their unity in facing the security threats and economic challenges and proves that GCC security is integral.

HM King Hamad also said that the Summit will be dedicated to reviewing the progress of joint GCC march at all levels.

"The GCC has attained innumerable accomplishments over the past three decades, and we look forward to achieving more for the sake of reaching the aspired economic unity, which will enable us to withstand all political, security and economic challenges, make us more secure and stable and allow us to meet our peoples’ expectations," HM King said.

HM the King expressed confidence that the summit will succeed in achieving the set goals.
