Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology convenes

Manama, May 12 (BNA) Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa chaired at Gudaibiya Palace today the committee’s 21st meeting.
The committee discussed recommendations of the previous meetings and the eGovernment’s 2011-2014 new strategy which seeks to optimize eGovernment services by relying on cutting-edge technologies.

More than 70 national e-projects are also in the pipeline for the next four years covering three main categories of the eGovernment’s programme: environment, readiness and usage.
A total of 40 new eGovernment services will also be provided annually during the next two years alongside a number of e-initiatives in cooperation with the private sector.
The Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology instructed to take the necessary measures to implement the new strategy perfectly thanking all sides who took part in preparing it.
Preparations for Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2011, due to be held for the fourth time in Bahrain from May 16 to 18 under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, were also reviewed.
