Russian President Backs the African Role to Halt the Bloodshed in Libya

Moscow - May 28 (BNA) -- Russian President Dimitri Medvedev has today backed the role of the African countries to stop the bloodshed in Libya as soon as possible and held the Libyan people settle their own problems and ensure a democratic future without imposing a foreign agenda on them. The Russian leader expressed his country’s stance during a phone call he received from South African President Jacob Zuma.
President Zuma briefed his Russian Counterpart on results of the extraordinary summit of the African Union, recently held in Addis Ababa on May 25-26, particularly the decision to dispatch a high-level delegation led by President Zuma to Libya soon. President Zuma hailed the decision of President Medvedev to dispatch a Russian envoy to Libya.
