Manama, July 5 (BNA)—Shura Council Chairman Ali Saleh Al Saleh hailed today Egypt’s brotherly stance supporting Bahrain’s National Consensus Dialogue which was called for by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. He also lauded at a meeting today with Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Essam Sharaf and his accompanying ministerial delegation Egypt’s firm rejection of any foreign intervention in the kingdom’s domestic affairs or encroachment on its sovereignty and stability.
He hailed the Egyptian delegation’s visit to Bahrain describing it as a new opportunity to further bolster bilateral cooperation in various fields. Both sides reviewed the incidents undergone by both countries recently and the steps taken to restore security and stability.
They also discussed regional and international issues of common interest as well as ways of promoting bilateral cooperation mainly in the parliamentary field.
“Regional and international appreciation of the royal call for dialogue as well as HM the King’s order to set up the Independent Royal Fact-Finding Commission reflects confidence in the kingdom’s decade-long reform process,” Al Saleh said pointing out that the steps taken presently aim to build on these reforms and bring about more achievements.
“Bahrain is capable, thanks to its wise leadership and people’s unity, to overcome challenges and tensions and ensure sustainable security and stability,” he added. “The National Consensus Dialogue, in which all national parties are taking part, is the right way to debate issues and reach a consensus on them,” he stressed.
“All visions will be placed before the legislative power for detailed discussion after referring them to HM the King,” he said praising the supportive stances of friendly and brotherly countries, including mainly Egypt which boasts a strategic importance for the Arab World.
The Egyptian Premier commended Bahrain’s democratic and civilizational growth wishing the national dialogue every success in achieving its forecast goals.
