His Majesty issues decrees

Manama, Oct. 9 (BNA) -- His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has issued decree - law No. 35 for the year 2011 on amending certain provisions of the Trade Union Act in decree – law No. 33 for the year 2002 as following :


First provision : Article No.8 1 - Any two unions or those of similar ones may establish a trade union among themselves. The establishment of this union and joining it will be after the approval of the majority of members of the General Assembly of the trade union. 2 – The Trade Union which would be declared by the concerned minister will represent workers of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the international forums and different collective negotiations with employers and their organizations in the Kingdom . Article No. 10 The establishment of the union must not be based on religious and ethnic bases and workers covered by civil service can join it, this will apply for workers in any establishment or a particular sector or specific activity. The second provision : Those found responsible for violating laws that led to the dissolution of trade union are banned from nominating themselves for new membership of the Board of Directors except after the expiry of five years from the date of the issuance of a decision or a final judicial ruling this dissolution. His Majesty also issued decree – law No 36 for the year 2011 on controlling entitlement of salaries and benefits of staff at Governmental bodies and institutions . Article No. 1 The provisions of salaries and related benefits are in accordance with law and regulations of the civil service. Article No. 2 Staff will retain in government entities referred to in that article until the end of their service in accordance with the law or of the contracts concluded with them. Article No. 3 Any provision contradicts with the provisions of this law will be cancelled. His Majesty the King issued decree – law No. 98 for the year 2011 on defining allocations of Chairman of the Shura Council and his two deputies as following : Article No. 1 Chairman of Shura Council and the President of the House of Representatives enjoy same bonuses, allowances and other financial benefits given to minister. Article No. 2 Vice-Chairman of the Shura Council and Vice- Chairman of the House of Representatives will be given an allowance worth BD 1200 per month, and another social allowance of 300 BD per month. Article No. 3 The Vice-Chairman of the Shura Council and the Vice- Chairman of the House of Representatives will be given an amount of BD 750 as transportation allowance. Article No. 4 In the case of travelling to represent the Kingdom of Bahrain in international events the Vice-Chairman of the Shura Council and Vice - Chairman of the House of Representatives will be granted allocations same to those given to undersecretaries. Article No. 5. Any provision contradicts with this provision will be cancelled. EM
