Manama, Oct. 26 (BNA)—Labour Minister Jamil Humaidan, the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) Chairman, received in his office today Human Rights Without Frontiers (HRWF) Director Willy Foutre and members.
He hailed cooperation between the Labour Ministry and all international organizations stressing readiness to discuss issues of common interest so as to further boost human rights and freedoms in Bahrain.

He also reviewed the ministry's role in protecting the rights of the expatriate work force according to international criteria and the kingdom's laws and regulations.

Both sides also underscored the need to maintain coordination between the Labour Ministry and HRWF to promote programmes aimed at raising the expatriate workers' awareness of their rights and how to defend them.

The Labour Minister pointed out Bahrain's pioneering initiatives in this regard and the positive steps taken to protect the rights of the expatriate labour force, including permitting them to switch to a new employer freely and showing how to lodge complaints in case the employer fails to honour his duties.

LMRA, he said, is exerting massive efforts in this regard and provides on its website all data related to the rights of foreign workers in more than fifty languages, which could be known before signing work contracts or even leaving homelands
