Salman bin Ibrahim approved VIP invitations to attend the opening ceremony of the 21st Gulf

Manama, Nov. 5 (BNA) -- Secretary - general of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and Chairman of the Executive Committee of 21st Gulf Cup football tournament Shaikh Salman bin Ebrahim Al Khalifa approved the invitations for the VIPs and guests attending the opening ceremony of the competition.

The prestigious regional tournament will be hosted by the Kingdom of Bahrain next year, and for the fourth time, from January 5 to 18.
The technical committee of the tournament will hold its second meeting today in Seef Area to discuss a number of important topics on its agenda.
Some of the issues include the approval of matches schedule, the official hotels hosting the delegations and the referees committee.
Ahmed Al Nuaimi, the tournament director and technical committee chairman, will chair today's meeting.
The committee also includes members Saud Al Mohannadi of Qatar, Kuwaiti Saho Al Faihan, Abdulla Al Sahli of Saudi Arabia, who arrived in Bahrain yesterday.
Other committee members are Emirati Rashid Al Zaabi, Saleh Al Farsi of Oman, Hamid Shaibani of Oman, Tareq Ali of Iraq and secretary Ebrahim Al Buainain.
The committee had its first meeting on the sidelines of the draw ceremony held on October 18 at the National Museum in Manama.
The media committee has also approved its plans for the coming stage during its most recent meeting held in Seef. The committee, headed by Tawfeeq Al Salehi, highlighted the requirements of the next period.
Al Salehi discussed several important points related to the committee's work and the tasks entrusted to them. He called on all members to redouble their efforts in the current period as the tournament date approaches.
The committee also reviewed all suggestions concerning the preparing of media centres, to be provided for the media representatives expected to come for the tournament.
Media committee will be making a field visit to the proposed location of these media centres at the National Stadium, Khalifa Sports City Stadium and the training stadiums and at the officials hotels approved for the tournament.
The committee will hold its next meeting tomorrow to finalise the list of proposed media representatives covering the event according to the organizational structure.
Meanwhile, stadiums committee head Khalid Al Haj had a co-ordination meeting yesterday with security committee head Abdullah Al Zaabi, and regional director of Desert Group Andy at the Bahrain Football Association premises, where they discussed through the proposed schedule of matches.
Al Haj presented the fixtures schedule, which will be formally approved at the technical committee meeting today, in order to develop the necessary perceptions by the security committee to take regulatory steps on the security aspect of the matches.
Al Haj also presented the same timetable to Desert Group, to co-ordinate the renovation process of the National Stadium and Khalifa Sports City Stadium grounds, to ensure their readiness before the start of the tournament.
