Manama-Dec3(BNA) The 8th edition of Manama Dialogue will open on Friday (December7) under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is a key strategic partner with the London-based International Institute of Strategic Studies (IISS) in holding this major security conference.
The forum will discuss the future of the region amid mounting strategic challenges resulting from upheavals underway in the region and the world.
The Manama Dialogue Forum has established itself as an important platform to debate major regional and global security, political and economic issues.
The 8th edition (Manama Dialogue2012) and plenary sessions will be overshadowed by increasing security and political tensions in the region.
The session will discuss the explosive Syrian crisis and spotlight its pitfalls on regional security.
The agenda will also debate counter-terrorism, security in Hormuz Strait, the impact of sectarian-motivated politics on regional security and Middle Eastern stability in addition to relations with the US.
HRH Prince Salman is patronizing the forum out of keenness on promoting global dialogue, backing efforts to explore solutions to defuse tensions and crises and bolstering regional and international cooperation to confront future challenges.
The 8th edition of Manama Dialogue also confirms Bahrain’s acknowledged status the map of global forums and conferences.
