HRH the Premier calls for unification of Arab media discourse

Manama: Dec. 26 -- (BNA) His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister urged for working towards unification of Arab media discourse in the face of defamatory, separatist and crisis-mongering campaigns which target the Arab nation, asserting that the safety of one Arab state means the safety of all other states and that the targeting of one Arab state means the targeting of all other Arab states and that our fortitude relies upon our unity and our disassembling makes us more targetable . The Prime Minister pointed out that we're concerned about the fate of our Arab nation whose interests and unity should be defended by everybody each according to his capacity and position and that an efficient media is the prime defense line.

HRH the Prime Minister received at the Prime Minister's Court this morning the Minister of State for Information Affairs, Samira Ibrahim bin Rajab, who introduced to His Royal Highness the Prime Minister a number of directors of Arab news agencies led by the Qatari News Agency (QNA)'s general director, Mr. Ahmed Saad Al-Buainain who is also chairman of the Federation of Arabian News Agencies, on the occasion of convening of the 40th General Assembly of the Federation of Arab News Agencies hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

HRH the Prime Minister asserted that the GCC states supports Arab and Islamic issues which are always the concern of the Kingdom of Bahrain's leadership and government, praising the role of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its positive stances in supporting Arab and Muslim issues. HRH the Prime Minister called for developing the Arabian mass media in order to keep abreast with latest modernization of media technologies and techniques, excellence, speediness and diversity.
HRH the Prime Minister praised the remarkable important role played by Arab news agencies in local and international events' coverage and wide circulation.

HRH the Prime Minister hailed the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's invitation for creation of the Gulf Union by moving from the phase of joint GCC cooperation to ultimate unification.

For his part, the President of the Federation of Arab News Agencies and chairman of the Qatari News Agency (QNA) expressed utmost gratitude and appreciation to HRH the Prime Minister and the Kingdom of Bahrain for hosting the Federation's General Assembly and praised the facilitations granted by the Kingdom of Bahrain and the support of HRH the Prime Minister which contributed into producing this conference in the most perfect manner.

On the other hand the Secretary-general of the Arab Federation of News Agencies, Dr. Fareed Ayyar, lauded the Kingdom of Bahrain's accomplishments in terms of its renaissance in all walks of life, specifically in media aspects which qualified Bahrain to become the Capital of Arab Press 2012 which reflects atmospheres of freedom and openness experienced in the Kingdom of Bahrain under the wise leadership of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander.

Dr. Ayyar praised the cordial reception he and the delegation received from HRH the Prime Minister, and expressed his utmost delight for the Kingdom of Bahrain's hosting of the 40th General Assembly meeting of the Arab Federation of News Agencies, lauding the Kingdom of Bahrain's supporting of joint Arab media action and the provision of suitable atmospheres for Arab news agencies to carry out their mission in serving Arab issues.
