HM the King Patronizes HM’s Cup for Overall and Young Endurance Competitions

Manama, February 23rd (BNA) –His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, in the presence of the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa patronized today the competitions of HM’s Cup for overall and young for 120 km, and the qualifying race for 80 km.
The competitions started this morning at Bahrain International Endurance Village, with the participation of riders from the local stables, in addition to riders form UAE.

Upon HM the King’s arrival, he was received by the Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and by First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, the President of Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation, HH Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa. HM the King was also received by the members of the Board of Directors of the Federation, and the heads of the organizing committees of the Championship.

HM the King also met with Dubai’s Crown Prince, HH Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who is participating in the race, where he conveyed greetings of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, HH Shaikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and his wishes for HM the King with good health and happiness and Progress and prosperity for Bahrain.

HM the King welcomed Dubai’s Crown Prince and the participants in the race, stressing that such participation led by HH Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum reflects the depth of the distinctive, brotherly and historical relations between the two countries, and their peoples, and the progress and development these relations witness. HM also exchanged talks with the riders on the progress of the race, wishing them every success.

On the other hand, HH Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and HH Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa briefed HM the King on the race, where a group of riders from Bahrain, and UAE are participating, as well as the race’s rounds.

Then, HM the King followed-up part of the race.

At the end of the race, the Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, HRH Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa crowned the rider Shaikh Saeed Bin Jumaa Al Maktoum from UAE with the first position, the rider Rashid Diab Ghanim Al Mazrouee from UAE with the second position, and the rider Ahmed Mohammed Ahmed Al Qaissi from UAE with the third position.

Marking the occasion, HM the King congratulated UAE riders and wished all participants to achieve the best results in the next competitions.

HM the King lauded the efforts of the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation during the race, including the provision of facilities and showing the championship with an image that reflects the high level and great organization of (BREEF).

HM the King highlighted the efforts of HH Shaikh Nasser Bin Hamad and HH Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad in raising this sport and for the preparation of the Kingdom’s riders to join all various championships and competitions, wishing them all success.
