Breef is orgainsing Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad International Endurance Race

Manama, March 10 (BNA) -- The Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (Breef) is organising the Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad International Enduance Race on Saturday.
The cream of Bahrain riders are expected to line up for one of the highlights and most challenging endurance ride of the season.

Set to take place at the Bahrain International Endurance Village in Sakhir, the event features a 120km ride for seniors as well as an international 80km qualifying race, also open for senior riders.

The 120km ride has been divided into five stages, commencing with 30km for the first stage. The second stage will also cover 30km, while each of the remaining three stages will each be over 20km.

As for the international 80km qualifying ride, it consists of three stages. The first and second will each cover 30kms, to be followed by 20km for the third.

The veterinary area is being prepared for the veterinary examination, due to take place at the endurance village on Friday from 3.30pm to 5pm.

The organising committee, headed by Breef president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has approved the total weight for both races. Participants' weight in the 120km event should not exceed 75kg with the saddle, while a maximum weight of 70kg for each riders is allowed in the 80km race.

This weekend ride will be held under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, who directed the organisers to begin their preparations for the event.

Breef president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed the importance of having a variety of races this weekend, and giving all stables and its respective riders the opportunity to take part.

He stated that this race is regarded one of the important and distinctive events this season, which comes within a series championships organized by the Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation.

On his part, Shaikh Nasser said this weekend's race promises to be exciting and pull off another outstanding success, especially since the working committees are keen to finish all procedures in time for the competition and provide all the requirements for its success.

Royal Endurance Team captain expressed appreciation to Breef president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for backing the federation in organizing this endurance show to achieve the goals that these races were found for.

Shaikh Nasser also highlighted the excellent great efforts made by members of the working committees of the race, stressing that this excellent organization is an important part in the success of the race.
