Results of HM the King's Horse-Racing Cup

Manama, Mar. 16. (BNA) -- Favourites made a clean sweep winning all four feature races at Sakhir yesterday, including the two races for His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's Cups, the richest races of the Bahrain horse racing season.
Blue's Bass Billy, owned by Al Nasseriyeh and trained by Alan Smith, easily beat Run For Pink by one-and-half-a-length to win the King's Cup for locally bred horses ran over 2,400 metres and carrying a cash prize of BD10,000.

Sailors Joy was a head behind in third and Barracuda was another half-a-length adrift in fourth.

Saqlaawy 1517, owned by Al Roudha Stable, trained by Fawzi Nass and ridden by Hussain Makki, won the King's Cup for Arabian horses ran over 1,200 metres and carrying a cash prize of BD5,000.

The favorite pipped Rabdaan 1343 by three-fourth-length while Rabdaan 1566 was one-and-one-fourth-length behind in third and Obeyaan 1335 was fourth, another one-and-three-fourth-length adrift.

Sahaal, owned by Hadi Ebrahim Al Afoo, trained by Mohammed Hassan and ridden by Alberto Sanna, beat Amoure Medici by two lengths to claim the Al Methaq Cup for imported horses ran over 1,600 metres and carrying a cash prize of BD2,000.



True Event was a neck behind in third and Konstantin a short head adrift in fourth.

Unex El Greco, owned by Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, trained by Alan Smith and ridden by Brett Doyle, beat Azizi by three lengths to win the Bahrain Gold Cup ran over 2,400 metres and carrying a cash prize of BD7,200.

William Blake was two lengths behind in third and Shamali fourth, another length adrift.
