BDF Commander-in-Chief meets with US-CENTCOM's commander

Manama: May 13 -- (BNA)-- The BDF Commander-in-Chief, H.E. Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, met in his office at the BDF Headquarters today with US-CENTCOM's new Commander, General Lloyd J. Austin III and his accompanying delegation on the occasion of his visit to the Kingdom.

At the meeting, the BDF Commander-in-Chief welcomed the US-CENTCOM's Commander, congratulated him on his new position, and praised good bilateral relations between the two friendly countries citing increasingly-growing bilateral cooperation especially in military and other aspects, wishing him success in the duties of his new military assignment in supporting and boosting bilateral relations in various fields which contribute into boosting military ties between the two friendly countries. Also, a number of topics of common interest were discussed between the two sides during the meeting.

The meeting was attended by the BDF Chief-of-Staff, Major-General Shaikh Duaij bin Salman Al Khalifa, the BDF Headquarters' director, Major-General Yusuf Ahmed Al-Jalahma, the Inspector-General, Major-General Abdullah Hassan Al-Nu'aimi, the Directorate of Planning, Organization and Technology director, (Naval) Major-General Yusuf Ahmed Mal-Allah and a number of senior BDF officers.

The meeting was attended from the American side by H.E. Mr. Thomas Krajeski the US Ambassador to the Kingdom, the Deputy Commander of US-CENCOM and US 5th Fleet, (Naval) Major-General Kevin Scott, and US military attaché in the Kingdom, Colonel John West. (IY)
