HRH Premier Hails Bahraini-US Cooperation

Manama, May 13. (BNA) -- His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has asserted that the rapid political and security changes in the region require friendly and allied countries to intensify consultation and coordination on the basis of mutual respect so as to consolidate their security and stability, expressing the kingdom of Bahrain's desire to keep doors of cooperation with the USA always wide-open for the joint interests of the two friendly peoples.


This came as HRH Premier received at the Gudaibiya Palace today the Commander of U.S. Central Command. General Lloyd J. Austin III, and reviewed with him ways of bolstering the friendly and cooperation ties bonding the two countries in all fields, especially the military one, as well as the latest regional developments and the efforts to promote peace and stability.

HRH Premier lauded the advanced level of joint cooperation at all levels, affirming that the kingdom will spare no effort to strengthen cooperation with the USA, especially amid the on-going regional developments requiring stepping up joint collaboration and coordination, highlighting the need to take advantage of the outstanding Bahraini-US relations to support efforts to consolidate regional security and stability.

He added that opportunities to enhance development and growth in the region are already there, and requires solid bases of stability in order to succeed.

On his part, Gen. Lloyd J. Austin III lauded HRH Premier's efforts to support bilateral cooperation and the pioneering role he has played in the kingdom's development and progress march.

He said that his country valued highly its partnership with the kingdom of Bahrain, and would continue developing it, noting that cooperation between friends and partners is essential to promote security and stability in the region amid the rapid changes it is currently witnessing.
