2013 UN Public Service prize winners commend Bahrain's organizational level

Manama, June 26 (BNA) – 2013 UN Public Service Forum prize winners told Bahrain News Agency, on the sidelines of the awards ceremony held today, the Kingdom of Bahrain granted them, through hosting the Form, an unprecedented opportunity to exchange experiences with delegations from 97 countries participated in the Forum, and hailed the organizational level that spanned four days.


They added their participations in the exhibition titled (Innovation in the Public Service), organized at the Bahrain International Circuit, opened broad prospects through the exchanging ideas and acquainting with projects of other participants and visitors, praising the contents of the workshops and working papers held that sparked debates and received heavy turnout.

UN Public Service awards was first launched in 2004, and honors five categories, including Preventing and Fighting Corruption in Public Service, Administrative Development Improvement, Fostering Participation in Policy-Making Decisions through Innovative Management, the Advancing Knowledge Management in Government, in addition to Promoting Gender- Responsive Deliveries of Public Services, each category will be awarded two prizes.

The 2013 UN Public Service Forum is the largest global gathering focuses on the achievements and challenges of public service, and the United Nations Award for Public Service is the highest international award to honor service institutions and quality projects from around the world, which contribute to the development of public and e-services. The Kingdom of Bahrain is the fourth country in the world and the first in the Middle East to host and organize this forum which was first launched ten years ago.
