Manama, Jul.31 (BNA)–His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa has today issued two decree-laws amending the law on protecting society from terror acts and regulating fundraising for public purposes.
The two decree-laws are in conformity with the recommendations endorsed by the National Assembly on combating terror.
The amended law criminalizes the acts of planting fake bombs and toughens penalties against terror instigators who could be sentenced to a maximum 15 years in jail.
The decree-law stipulates additional terror penalties which would include the revocation of the citizenship of perpetrators of dangerous terror crimes along with the instigators harbouring, aiding and abetting such crimes.
The decree-law on regulating fundraising for public purposes aims to update the provisions of the law on charity fundraising for 1956.
The amended law regulates the legal use of collected funds for charity, social, educational, cultural or religious purposes and stipulates the legal procedures that ensure fundraising transparency and legality and cut off the sources of terrorist funding.
The source announced that the legislations relating to the other recommendations endorsed by the National Assembly are underway.
