Health Minister Leaves for Saudi Arabia

Manama, Sept. 20 (BNA)—Health Minister Sadaq bin Abdul Karim Al-Shehabi left today for Saudi Arabia, alongside a delegation of senior Health Ministry officials, to take part in the second international conference on mass gathering medicine which will be held in Riyadh under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud from September 21 to 23.
Health Ministers from the GCC countries, the USA, France, Cuba, Canada, Indonesia, South Cuba and Pakistan are expected to take part in the conference.

Representatives from regional and international institutions and organisations, the Arab League Secretary General, the GCC Secretary General, World Health Organisation (WHO) Director General, WHO regional Director for East Mediterranean, members of the Health Ministry’s international Advisory Panel, experts and scientists from around the world will also attend.

The conference will provide the opportunity to get informed about experiences and health challenges as well as the experience of Saudi Arabia during the Umrah and Haj periods so as to develop health programmes.

Key health issues will be discussed including Corona virus and the new challenges it poses for the health sectors around the world.
