CPISP Director meet with LSE Officer

Manama: Oct. 30 -- (BNA)-- Officials from the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program (CPISP) met with a visiting representative from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) at the Court of the Crown Prince and discussed opportunities available for prospective Bahraini students at LSE.


CPISP Director Dr. Cynthia Gessling welcomed LSE Student Recruitment Officer Angela Heywood, and affirmed that since the establishment of the CPISP, thirteen of its scholarship recipients have gained acceptance at LSE to attain undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in economics, law, international relations, and corporate finance.

Dr. Gessling praised ongoing cooperation between the two organizations, wishing Ms. Heywood success on her visit to Bahrain and the region to promote opportunities available at LSE for aspiring outstanding scholars.

The LSE Student Recruitment Officer expressed her keenness to strengthen LSE’s ties with the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Program, praising the CPISP’s objective to provide the best educational opportunities for outstanding Bahrainis to study at top international universities.

The two sides also discussed the various programs available at LSE, and said that LSE is one of the most competitive leading academic institutions in the fields of economics, law, management, and international relations, as well as social sciences, anthropology, and social policy. She also noted that LSE has a cosmopolitan academic environment, with both students and educators from diverse international backgrounds and countries, and affirmed that its teachers are leaders in their fields. She said that there are currently 15 Bahraini students enrolled at LSE, including one CPISP scholar, and praised the caliber and academic excellence demonstrated by Bahraini students, wishing them success.
