Interior Minister attends Milipol Paris Security Exhibition

Paris, Nov19(BNA) Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa today visited France as part of an invitation he received from his French counterpart Manuel Valls.


The minister participated in the opening ceremony of the Milipol Paris Security Exhibition that features many advanced security programmes and cutting-edge technologies.

At the beginning of the meeting with the French Interior Minister, he expressed his thanks and appreciation at the invitation and stressed the importance of reinforcing bilateral cooperation in fighting organized crimes and terrorism.

He said that Bahrain has adopted the democratic approach since the beginning of the ruling of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa over ten years ago.

“The government comprises of citizens that work for all children of Bahrain, but we are against extremism that doesn’t serve Islam , security or stability of the nation.”, He said

He affirmed the commitment of freedom of expression and human rights that are protected in the constitution.

“It is unfortunate that some are misusing such freedom in lawbreaking activities.” He continued that Bahrain police doesn’t face protesters but individuals who are involved in rioting, vandalism and terrorism.”m he said

The French Interior Minister commended the efforts of HM the King, lauding the achievements of Bahrain in terms of its comprehensive development.

He called for the continuation of efforts aimed at promoting national dialogue. He affirmed Bahrain-French agreement to activate cooperation and coordination between security authorities of both countries.

The meeting also reviewed bilateral cooperation and development means, in addition to coordination to fight terrorism and all forms of crimes.

The French minister accepted the invitation tended by Lt. Gen Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa to visit Bahrain.

During his visit to Milipol exhibition of internal State security, Lt. Gen Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa was updated on latest security technologies showcased by by more than 1,000 exhibiting companies from 43 countries.

Milipol Paris is the undisputed meeting place for technological innovation in the field of the security of people and property. The exhibition also showcases developed tools to protect states from major environment and industrial risks.

Lt. Gen Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa hailed the advanced security programmes at Milipol Paris that help in enhancing the performance of the police. He said that the exhibition is an opportunity to benefit from modern systems and proragmmes.

Lt. Gen Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa was accompanied by Bahrain Ambassador in France Dr. Nasser Al Balooshi and MOI officials.
