Manama, Dec. 18. (BNA) -- The second round of the Bahrain Drag Racing Championship is all set to take place this weekend as part of the National Racing Festival at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir.

The four-day meeting was launched on Tuesday and Wednesday with back-to-back evenings of Test and Tune.

They continue on Thursday (December 19) with qualifying and on Friday (December 20) with the head-to-head races.

Scores of participants from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the UAE are set to go head to head once again along BIC’s first-rate drag strip, which is a member of the prestigious National Hot Rod Association Worldwide Network.

Friday’s races will start from 6pm.

The weekend’s events also include action in the MRF Challenge and the BIC 2,000cc Challenge. The MRF Challenge is a single-seater series that pits a grid of aspiring drivers from all over the world against one another in Formula 2,000 challengers powered by 210bhp Renault Sport engines.

The National Racing Festival has been organised by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, Circuit Racing Club and Bahrain Drag Racing Club.

Tickets for the entire festival cost only BD3 apiece for adults and BD1.5 for children.
