Shaikh Nasser to address World Summit on Ethics in Sports

Manama, March 17 (BNA)-- Chairman of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa confirmed that he would be a keynote speaker at the first World Summit on Ethics in Sports, which will be held on September 19, 2014 at the FIFA Headquarters, in Zurich, Switzerland.
The invitation came as Shaikh Nasser received Director of the World Forum for Ethics in Business Christoph Glaser who thanked him for accepting the invitation and said he would add a fresh perspective to the need for ethics in sports and sports management.

" Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa is a youth icon and a sportsman par excellence – who better than him to deliver a thought-provoking keynote address at the summit? We are indeed very grateful to His Highness for his enthusiasm for the cause of sports and youth," Mr. Glaser said.

The theme of the summit is "Sports meet Business – Shared value and the role of sports in solving societal problems."

Shaikh Nasser, who has successfully brought sports to the forefront of social awareness and has inspired Bahraini youth with his personal and professional example, will address leading decision makers from sports, politics, business, academics and NGOs on the role of sports in solving societal problems.

The multi-stakeholder summit will celebrate the best examples of ethical sportsmanship, showcase successful CSR activities in sports arena and address the current challenges in sports ethics. Ethics in Sports Award that will recognize an outstanding individual and organization that have demonstrated the importance of human values and ethics in life and in the sports arena will also be conferred at the summit.

The World Summit on Ethics in Sports aims to pursue and establish the indispensable ethical foundations in the world of sports. The World Forum for Ethics in Business is organizing this summit in cooperation with Marti Communications and the International Association for Human Values.
