Works Minister inaugurates Arabian MEP Expo2014

Manama: March 18 -- (BNA): Minister of Works Eng. Essam bin Abdullah Khalaf inaugurated the third edition of the Arabian (Mechanical Electrical Plumbing) MEP Conference and Exhibition held at the Bahrain International Convention and Exhibition Centre in March 17-19.
The Minister said the construction, engineering and contracting sectors are being encouraged to use such technology to preserve the environment and ensure the future of the coming generations.
‘Bahrain is at the forefront of developing green technologies for use in the country,’ he explained.

During the show, the latest technologies in green buildings and their implementation in the construction industry in the Mena region were discussed.

More than 100 exhibitors from Bahrain, the region and around the globe took part in the event, which brought together professionals and experts from the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) industry who were discussing such technologies in detail and updating builders and developers with the latest in the field and their use.

Among the highlights of the event there were sessions focusing on artificial rain, where an expert from the Pune-based Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), senior scientist Dr. J Kulkarni, explored the possibilities of artificial rain research and discussed how it could be implemented in Bahrain.

Among the attendees were those involved in manufacturing of HVACR and allied equipment and components, mechanical and plumbing contractors, architects and designers as well as public utility providers and government agencies.

Business deals worth $380 million were also concluded during the last edition of the show, which was attended by more than 4,000 visitors from 15 countries. (IY)
