Shaikh Khalid to attend BRAVE 5 matches in India

Mumbai, Apr. 21 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth, Honourary President of the Bahrain Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF), founder of Khalid Bin Hamad Mixed Martial Arts (KHK MMA), arrived here today to attend the fifth edition of the BRAVE Championship.
The event is organised by the BRAVE Combat Federation which emanated from the Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa Mixed Martial Arts Organisation, in cooperation with the Indian Martial Arts Federation. The championship will be held at the Dome National Stadium of India on Sunday, 23 April 2007.

HH Shaikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al Khalifa in a statement, said: "We are proud to have the fifth edition of BRAVE in the Indian city of Mumbai. We chose this location with great conviction due the strong presence of India in MMA championship, which has led India to be a developed country in this sport. The presence of the championship at this time in India, is a message to all the athletes of this sport, that we are very supportive to all their efforts. It is also in order to achieve our aspirations for further development of this game, which has become the focus of today's youth in various countries of the world, as they started to practice these kinds of combat sports. "

His Highness added: "In this regard, we would like to pay tribute to the deep relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and India, which is based on mutual respect and cooperation with common interests. These are characterized by a long and bright history between the two countries, which has been continuing for decades. Our goal is to contribute to deepening this relationship between the two countries through sports, especially in the field of mixed martial arts".

His Highness expressed his confidence that this version of the championship will achieve great success, because India possesses the elements necessary and which help to achieve His Highness’ aspirations and reach the desired results.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa said: "Everyone knows that the championship started as a Bahraini idea and carried goals that we set, the aim is primarily to strengthen Bahrain's prominent position on the international level in this sport, which motivated us to implement our plan and spread this championship to different countries of the world. Its global reach will contribute to the success of this championship in record time, on organizational, technical and media level. This will have a great impact in turning this championship to become the biggest event and number one in the world and we aim to achieve that goal."

His Highness expects the fifth edition to deliver strong performances between the fighters, stressing that the championship has well-known names with high combat abilities, especially in the main fight and co-main fight.
