Manama, June 19(BNA): The Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) surgery wards have gone high-tech.
The wards started implementing the patients’ electronic medical files, replacing conventional paperwork.
“Patients’ details would be input via computers instead of relying on the usual paper procedures”, said SMC Consultant Vascular Surgeon Dr. Rani Agha.
He said that the e-medical file system was launched following directives from Health Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Training and Planning Dr. Mohammed Amin Al-Awadhi.
He stressed the importance of the e-system which, he said, will streamline medical procedures, help safeguard data and ensure easy access whenever necessary.
Dr. Agha said that paper work would cancelled from SMC surgery wards within the coming few weeks.
