Moscow, June 19 (BNA): The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Ahmed Abdulrahman Al Sa’ati, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Dr Mohammed Al Badri, the Charge d'affaires of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed Al Shimari, and the First Secretary at the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates, Mohammed Al Mansoori, met today the Russian Foreign Affairs Committee in the State Duma, Leonid Slutsky.

The four diplomats briefed him on the damage and losses suffered by their countries as a result of the support of the State of Qatar for terrorist groups over the past years and the political efforts made by these countries to dissuade Doha from its aggressive policies, who did not respond to them. This, they said, forced the four countries to take the decision to sever diplomatic relations with Qatar to protect their national security and the safety of their peoples and territories.

They stressed that the current phase requires concerted efforts of all states to condemn and combat terrorism at the international level.

For his part, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Duma said that his country enjoys special relations with Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt and welcomes consultation with its leaders on various issues of common interest.

He expressed his full understanding of the concerns of the four countries and the reasons that led them to adopt such a resolution. He called on Qatar to sit down at the dialogue table with its brothers to remove these fears and resolve the dispute peacefully among them.

He said that the Riyadh agreement signed by the Emir of Qatar in 2014 was a good basis for resolving the dispute that erupted then and Qatar must abide by it.

He added that Russia was one of the first countries to fight terrorist groups, adding that it had blacklisted the Brotherhood terrorist group through a decision by the Russian Supreme Court 10 years ago because of its terrorist acts and therefore supported the inclusion of this group on the banned list issued by the four countries, proposing coordination and coordination between them to fight terrorist groups and the drying up of their sources.
