Ministry of Interior denies Al Jazeera English report
Manama, May 12 (BNA) The Ministry of Interior today denied media allegations broadcasted by Al Jazeera English against the Kingdom of Bahrain. Ministry Spokesman Brigadier Tariq Al Hassan in a telephone conversation with Bahrain Television affirmed that what was included in the report was untrue and baseless. He added that the ministry denied all such malicious fabrication made by Al Jazeera English. The report he said showed an interview of Heba, a reportedly 16-year-old schoolgirl, claiming that she, along with three of her school friends, were taken away by the police from their school and subjected to severe beatings while in custody for three consecutive days.

Deputy King Receives 12 CPISP Laureates
Manama - May12 (BNA) Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa has today stressed the crucial importance of acquiring knowledge as a catalyst for progress and development. He pointed out Bahrain’s keenness to empower individuals, by arming them with knowledge and providing them with the opportunities to excel. "This would enable them to participate constructively in building Bahrain’s present and future", he said. He made the comments as he received at Riffa Palace the 12th batch of the Crown Prince International Scholarship Programme for 2012. The lucky 2012 laureates are Ahmed Adam Bardouli (Isa Town Secondary Boys’ School), Isra’a Abdulnabi Al-Sabah (Khawla Secondary Girls’ School), Firas Abdulla Al-Ajmi (St Christopher School), Jannat Oun Al-Khnizi (Khawla Secondary Girls’ School), Mohammed Nabeel Khonji (Isa Town Secondary Boys’ School), Mona Mohammed Hassan (Khawla Secondary Girls’ School), Ala’a Mohammed Kamal (Abdulrahman Kanoo International School), Saeed Ahmed Al-Rahma (Isa Town Secondary Boys’ School), Sarra Ali Al-Zeera (Al-Raja School) and Yusuf Fareed Rubin (St Christopher School). Deputy King His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa said he was confident Bahrain’s future would be brighter.

IAA President chairs projects committee
Manama, May 12 (BNA) Information Affairs Authority (IAA) President Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa affirmed the authority’s keenness to keep up with the media revolution and technological advancement within a clear and comprehensive strategic plan. Balushi highlights voluntary work initiatives
Manama, May 12 (BNA) The Minister of Social Development and acting Minister of Health Dr. Fatima Al Balushi revealed today that the number of authorized community organizations in the kingdom were 526. The announcement was made during Dr. Al Balushi’s participation in the "creativity forum" held in Khobar recently at which she presented Bahrain’s pioneering experience in voluntary work.

Turkish President Voices Support for Bahrain's Security and Stability
Ankara-May12 (BNA) Turkish President Abdulla Gul has today reaffirmed his country’s full support for Bahrain’s stability. "Bahrain’s security and stability are crucial , being the cornerstone of economic development", he said, stressing strong historic relations bonding Bahrain and Turkey. President Gul voiced his country’s stance as he met a legislative delegation led by Parliament Chairman Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Dhahrani. The Turkish leader reaffirmed his strong rejection of any sectarian strife which, would only play in the hands of foreign parties.
