London, April 11 (BNA) -- Arsenal kept up the pressure on Premier League leaders Manchester United and maintained their title hopes with victory at Blackpool. Arsene Wenger's side have reduced United's lead to seven points with a game in hand, despite veteran 41-year-old keeper Jens Lehmann being thrust into his first start for the club in three years, after Manuel Almunia was injured in the warm-up. Lehmann had a relatively untroubled first half as Arsenal established firm control courtesy of two goals in three minutes from Abou Diaby and Emmanuel Eboue.

The team did what had to be done and now go into the big game next week with a comfortable eight point cushion over their great rivals. This was a hard earned win over bottom club Almeria, who limited Bar a early on and even took the lead, before Guardiola’s team’s courage and talent once again proved enough to take the three points.

Al Ahly Club Takes Action Against Those Who Offended the Kingdom and Its Leadership
Manama, April 9. (BNA) - Al Ahly Club’s Board has taken a number of measures against those who offended the kingdom and its wise leadership. During its most recent meeting, the Board, out of its adherence to national interests and assertion of loyalty to the wise leadership, banned players Maher Ashoor, Sadiq Ali, Salah Abduljalil, Hussain Fakhr, Mohammed Qurban, Mahmoud Abdul Nabi and Abbas Ayyad from any sport activity, and suspended the membership of Amer Hassan Ali Saleh, Hussaim Madan and Ali Hassan Ahmed.
