Arabian Horse Show to start on Thursday

Manama, Dec.4 (BNA): The 10th edition of the Bahrain National Arabian Horse Show will be open tomorrow, Thursday), December5, at Al-Raffa playground, belonging to the Bahrain Sports Military Association.

 

The three-day event, which concludes on Saturday, is being held as part of festivities marking Bahrain’s national days. The annual show will be held under the patronage of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) Chairman His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa.

 

The Arabian Horse Committee has coordinated with the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF) to ensure the success of the festival, which represents the first championship of the season.

 

BREEF board member Dr. Khalid Ahmed stressed the importance of this popular sport, which embodies Bahrain’s longstanding history and legacy, being one of the prime centre for purebred Arabian horses.  

 

Dr. Khalid Ahmed had chaired the meeting of the Arabian Horse Committee and ensured preparations and readiness for the four-day championship. The committee has also reviewed the programme of the championship, which will be held at Al-Raffa playground, belonging to the Bahrain Sports Military Association.

 

A total of 166 locally-bred horses – 63 females and 53 males – will take part in the competition on Thursday and Friday (December 5 and 6). The national championship is scheduled to be held on Saturday and Sunday (December 78), with 60 horses in the fray.
