Arab women event meeting scheduled

Manama, Oct. 10 (BNA): The Kingdom of Bahrain will embrace on Saturday the consultation meeting for the Arab Women’s Sports Tournament meeting in Manama.


Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al Khalifa, a Bahrain Olympic Committee board member, Women’s Sport Committee chairwoman, head of women’s committee at the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees (UANOC), will chair the meeting, in which aims to develop Arab women’s sports tournaments.


Among leading figures to attend this meeting is UANOC general secretary Saud bin Ali Al Abdulaziz, assistant general secretary Saad Al Sufyani and Organising Committee deputy chairwoman Nada Askar.


The tournament is organized by the UANOC every two years in Sharjah, in the UAE, with support from Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Wife of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.


Bahrain’s hosting the meeting is in the framework of the BOC’s continued efforts to support the joint Arab action in the field of sports, and to further boost the close cooperation between the committee and the UANOC to support the efforts of the UAE.


It is also in line with the efforts and conributions of Shaikha Hayat to promote the tournament as she heads the women’s sport committee at UANOC and also heads its supervising committee.
