Bahrain-US rich cultural relations discussed

Manama, Oct. 18 (BNA): President of the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA), Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, received the Chairman of the US Commission for the Preservation of America's Heritage Abroad, Paul Packer.


They discussed a draft memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the preservation and protection of cultural property between Bahrain and the government of the United States.


BACA President said Bahrain enjoys solid cultural relations with the United States, lauding the Bahrain-US cultural cooperation which has yielded numerous joint projects over the years.


She indicated that the MoU would consolidate efforts to preserve and protect the two countries’ cultural heritage through many cooperation initiatives and projects.


Paul Packer commended BACA’s efforts to promote Bahrain’s civilisation and culture.


He expressed thanks to Shaikha Mai for her role in opening up horizons of cultural cooperation between the two countries, expressing hope that the MoU would lead to launching projects that serve the two countries’ aspirations.
