Bahrain, US sign letter of agreement to enhance anti-terror cooperation

Manama, July 7 (BNA): Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, received here today the outgoing United States Ambassador to Bahrain, Justin Siberell.


The meeting was attended by the Chief of Public Security, Lieutenant-General Tariq Al Hassan.


The Interior Minister welcomed the US official, and expressed appreciation for his efforts and roles in supporting ties between the two friendly countries, especially in security, wishing him all the best.


The meeting reviewed relations and topics of common interest.


After the meeting, the Interior Minister and the US Ambassador signed a letter of agreement between the two countries to promote bilateral ties in the detection of explosives and other related materials, as part of counter-terrorism training and cooperation between the concerned authorities of both sides.


The US official expressed thanks and appreciation to the Interior Minister, hailing cooperation and coordination of the Interior Ministry to promote bilateral relations between the two countries.


He wished Bahrain and its citizens development and prosperity.


The Interior Minister presented the US ambassador with a memorial gift out of appreciation of his efforts in promoting cooperation between the two friendly countries.
