Bahrain's religious concord, inclusive culture highlighted in Washington

Washington, Jan. 31 (BNA): Shaikh Khalid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence hailed the wisdom of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to promote tolerance, peaceful coexistence that positioned Bahrain on the world's map of religious freedom.


This came as the Centre's Chairman and board members received in Washington members of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom in presence of This is Bahrain Society who presented an overview of religious freedom and multiculturalism in Bahrain throughout the centuries that enabled Bahrain to extend bridges of friendship and harmony to all nations and peoples.


They reaffirmed that all faiths promote compassion, forbearance and honesty and shun hatred, violence and homicide and stressed the importance of the strengthening the common denominators and principles of human rapprochement. They also hailed Bahrain's exemplary freedom, tolerance and peaceful coexistence.


Shaikh Khalid and Betsey Matthews expressed their gratitude and appreciation to Shaikh Abdullah bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Ambassador of Bahrain to the United States, for coordinating the meetings and visits undertaken by the King Hamad Global Centre for Peaceful Coexistence and This is Bahrain Society to Washington.
