Manama, Sep. 11 (BNA): Under the patronage of President of the Supreme Council of Health, Lieutenant-General Doctor Shaikh Mohamed bin Abdullah, Bahrain will hold the first Business Development Forum and Fair in healthcare sector (BDFEX) on October 23 and 24.
Dr. Khalid Bumtaie, CEO of Proact International Consultancy, revealed that the BDFEX Forum provides an opportunity to introduce the latest national initiatives aimed at strengthening the health sector, these include the National Health Insurance Program in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which aims to improve the quality and efficiency of health services.
In a statement, Dr. Bumtaie explained that this forum focuses on the role of implementing the health insurance project in attracting more investments and health facilities that provide quality services and specialties to the health sector system in the Kingdom of Bahrain, especially as the health insurance will provide patients with a number of treatment options and medical facilities. Provides health services, inviting health insurance companies to participate in this forum and benefit from the discussions during this regard.
He said that the forum, which witnesses a wide Gulf participation, will discuss the ideas of health insurance and discuss the best experiences and practices of the Gulf in this area, praising the efforts exerted by the Supreme Council of Health to implement this pilot project, especially since the public and private sector will be providers of health service.
Dr. Bumtaie said that the forum will address the most important solutions, ideas and innovations in the field of pharmaceutical industry and health and medical supplies in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia in particular, and achieve drug security and attract foreign investment, in order to support the implementation of the National Health Plan, which is based on several axes, including the creation of an efficient and sustainable health system It gives the patient the freedom to choose his / her healthcare provider, adopt an integrated and sustainable healthcare approach, and raise the quality and safety of healthcare services and ensure their continuity.
He praised the Bahrain's keenness to attract specialised medical conferences that mobilise international expertise and competencies, based on the Kingdom's keenness to support and enhance all efforts to cooperate and exchange expertise on various medical issues, and to build regional and international partnerships to promote the sustainability of health services.
