Amsterdam, July 29 (BNA): Ever Given, the container ship that blocked the Suez Canal more than four months ago, docked in Rotterdam on Thursday, said dpa international.
The ship arrived carrying around 14,000 containers from China, according to the port authority.
Ever Given ran aground at the end of March, following a sandstorm. It blocked the canal for six days, disrupting traffic on one of the busiest shipping routes and causing ripple effects around the world.
The Panama-flagged ship had been chartered by a Taiwan-based company before the accident.
The port said all containers destined for Europe were to be unloaded in Rotterdam. The ship was carrying a wide range of products including spare car parts, bicycles, calendars, garden furniture, clothes and food.
Ever Given is due to depart from Rotterdam at the beginning of next week and sail to Felixstowe in Britain.
