Fujairah starts Asia-Pacific Judo Championships Seniors

Fujairah, Apr.21 (BNA): The Asia-Pacific Judo Championships Seniors opened in Fujairah under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Crown Prince of Fujairah.

The ceremony inaugurated in the presence of 286 players from 39 Asian countries, including 11 Arab nations.

"The UAE in general and Fujairah in particular has made significant progress in martial arts, primarily Judo, thanks to the collective efforts made toward promoting the sport," said HH Shaikh Mohammed.

"The Asia-Pacific Judo Championships represent a perfect opportunity for Emirati players to hone their skills and gain international experience by playing with world-class athletes from various parts of the world," he added, Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported.
