Manama, Dec.10, (BNA): His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, today chaired the Government Executive committee meeting, held remotely.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister stressed the Kingdom’s commitment to combating COVID-19 and ensuring the health of all. In this regard, HRH the Crown Prince highlighted that in line with HM the King’s directives, a safe vaccine will be provided free of charge to all citizens and residents within the Kingdom.
HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister emphasised that the challenges presented by COVID-19 has allowed for the awareness and responsibility of the Kingdom’s community to be displayed through a collective adherence to all precautionary health measures.
On this note, HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister expressed his pride in the Kingdom’s frontline heroes and support network for their contributions to the ongoing success of mitigation efforts.
A report submitted by the National Medical Task Force to Combat the Coronavirus (COVID-19), headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Health, HE Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, on the Kingdom’s national vaccination programme was then reviewed.
In line with the directives of HM the King, plans and preparations aimed at providing a COVID-19 vaccine free of charge across 27 medical centres were discussed. These plans include vaccinating those over the age of 18 years of age, with a capacity of vaccinating five thousand individuals per day, and working to expand this programme to reach ten thousand vaccinations per day.
The National Medical Task Force to Combat the Coronavirus (COVID-19) underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to safeguarding the health of all by providing a vaccine which is approved by the World Health Organization and the National Health Regulatory Authority.
