Gulf Air, BIC and BTEA announce F1 holiday packages

Manama, Nov. 19 (BNA): Gulf Air, Bahrain's national carrier, in collaboration with Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) have announced the launch of holiday packages for the upcoming Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2020.

The collaboration will see Gulf Air and BIC offering special reduced prices on air and race tickets and BTEA facilitating hotel accommodation and tourist entry visas to Bahrain.

Available for purchase from Gulf Air’s website www.gulfair.com/f1, the Formula 1 packages will be available for customers flying to Bahrain from London, Moscow, Paris, Frankfurt, Baku, Karachi, Lahore, Mumbai, Delhi, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, Muscat, Riyadh, Jeddah and Medina.

“We are happy to work hand in hand with BTEA and BIC to promote the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2020 as an event and the Kingdom of Bahrain as a tourist and stopover destination," Gulf Air’s Director of Marketing and Digital Mohamed Adel Jamsheer said.

"The F1 packages will offer passengers the opportunity to attend the biggest event of Bahrain’s annual calendar by flying into the Kingdom from many of Gulf Air’s destinations. Our client base in Europe, Asia and the GCC will be able to choose a wide range of packages that are differently priced to suit every budget”.

Sherif El Mahdy, BIC’s Commercial Director expressed delight to be working with partners at Gulf Air and Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority to launch the packages.
 
"The race next year will be special as we will celebrate the 70th anniversary of Formula 1 and Gulf Air and we have plans to make the event bigger and better than ever," he said.

Ali Follad, BTEA's Tourism Advisor and Acting Director Marketing & Tourism Promotions said they were "very happy to be part of the F1 packages."

"Bahrain Grand Prix represents the major sport tourism sector for the Kingdom as it boosts hotel occupancy and number of inbound tourists to Bahrain event year. This initiative is the start of many to come in collaborations with our partners Gulf Air and Bahrain International Circuit," he said.

The FORMULA 1 GULF AIR BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX made history in 2014 as the first Formula 1 Grand Prix to be held in the Middle East.

Gulf Air launched operations in 1950, becoming one of the first commercial airlines established in the Middle East. Today, it is a major international carrier serving 48 cities in 27 countries.
