Manama, June 27(BNA): Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman, General Sports Authority (GSA) Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa has set up a committee for discipline and financial and administrative auditing of sports federations and clubs.
Chaired by GSA Vice Chairman, Bahrain Martial Arts Council Chief, HH Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, the committee also features GSA Chief Executive Officer Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar as vice chairman.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa issued directives as he chaired remotely the first meeting with heads of sports associations he took over as GSA chief.
The virtual meeting which was attended via videoconference by heads of sports associations and federations focused on the GSA strategy to develop sports in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa conveyed greetings from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, hailing the efforts exerted by different associations to enhance sports performance.
The newly-established committee will be tasked to scrutinize issues related to financial and administrative affairs of sports clubs and associations, report violations and submit a report in this regard to the GSA chairman for directives to be issued.
