Manama, Dec. 2 (BNA): Under the patronage of the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, General Sports Authority Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the International Olympic Day will be celebrated on Saturday, December 3.
The events will be held at The Avenues Mall from 10:00 a.m to 10:00 p.m, the Al-Doy International Sports and Martial Arts Centre, from 10:00 a.m to 08:00 p.m, the headquarters of the Bahrain Swimming Federation in Isa Town, from 09:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m, and The Art Hotel and Resort Hotel, from 10:00 a.m to 11:00 a.m. The Bahrain Maritime Sports Association will also hold swimming competitions from 10:00 a.m to 04:30 p.m.
During the events, free blood sugar and blood pressure checks will be provided by the medical team, in collaboration with the Al Hilal Hospital, free coupons will be given to all participants and first aid services will be provided.
Details of Bahrain’s celebrations of the International Olympic Day were revealed during the meeting between BOC Secretary-General, Fares Al-Kooheji, and representatives of various sports federations.
During the meeting, Al-Kooheji was informed about the federations’ preparations for the event.
This year’s International Olympic Day celebrates the power of sport to bring people together in peace. In 2022, the theme for International Olympic Day is “Together, For a Peaceful World”.
