HH Shaikh Khalid hails Bahrain’s heroic performance against Sweden

Manama, July 24 (BNA): Bahrain national handball team put in a strong performance, bowing to Sweden 32-31 in its opening match as part of the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.

Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) First Vice Chairman, Head of General Sports Authority (GSA) and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa hailed the the heroic national team which was on the verge of beating or drawing with Sweden, the 2021 World Handball Vice Champions in Egypt.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa directed Bahrain Olympic Committee to disburse winning bonuses to national team players in recognition of their honourable performance in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, wishing them every success in the remaining matches.

BOC Secretary-General Mohammed Hassan Al Nusuf extended deepest thanks to H Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, hailing his unwavering support to national teams.

He praised HH H Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s keen follow-up of the national teams, particularly the handball squad which put in an heroic performance against Sweden.

He announced the start of procedures  to disburse winning rewards for handball players in coordination with the Bahrain Handball Federation and the administrative delegation.
