Manama, July 9 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and French President Emmanuel Macron reviewed in a telephone conversation ways to bolster the strong relations between the two countries and to reinforce their strategic partnership at all levels.
HM King Hamad stressed the distinguished strategic relations between Bahrain and France and the keenness on boosting cooperation to serve their mutual interests and benefit their peoples.
The two leaders emphasized their commitment to bolstering cooperation, coordination and joint action and to reinvigorating agreements and joint committees to accomplish their achievements and fulfill the aspirations of their peoples. They hailed the progress of the Bahraini-French cooperation in the youth and sports fields.
HM King Hamad and President Macron reviewed regional and international issues of shared interest, mainly the Palestinian cause. They also discussed the latest developments in the Arabian Gulf, the Middle East and the Mediterranean Sea as well as the crises in the region, particularly in Syria and Libya.
The two leaders stressed the significance of joint action to preserve regional stability through reaching political solutions and settlements to the crises in the region and fulfill the aspirations of its peoples for progress, stability, peace and co-existence.
In this context, HM the King praised the pivotal role of France, under the leadership of President Emmanuel Macron, and its effective efforts in cooperation with allies and friends to consolidate security and stability, strengthen regional and international peace and combat terrorism.
The two sides also touched upon the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and the measures to deal with it and contain its repercussions.
HM the King congratulated the French President on his firm leadership in controlling the pandemic and wished health and safety to the French people and all to all peoples across the world.
President Macron praised HM King Hamad’s efforts in consolidating the historical friendship with France and developing cooperation. He commended HM the King’s initiatives that reflect Bahrain’s role in promoting peaceful coexistence and dialogue among religions, cultures and civilizations. He also lauded Bahrain’s role and committed cooperation to achieve the goals that serve security and peace in the region.
