HM King arrives in Egypt, holds talks with President el-Sisi

Cairo,  May 12  (BNA):  His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has arrived in Cairo to hold talks with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on strong historic and fraternal relations binding the two brotherly countries and peoples. The two leaders will also discuss Arab, regional and international developments.

 HM the King was received on arrival at the Cairo International Airport by President el-Sisi and Bahrain Ambassador to Egypt. 

 In a statement on his arrival, HM the King expressed delight at visiting Egypt, hailing deep-rooted historic relations binding the two brotherly countries and peoples.

 He stressed joint keenness on consulting and discussing all bilateral, Arab and regional issues as part of joint efforts aimed to consolidate security and stability in the region and tackling all regional issues so as to protect Arab and Islamic interests.

 HM the King hailed the pivotal and pioneering role of Egypt in consolidating joint Arab action, protect pan-Arab security and advocating Arab causes at all all regional and international arenas.

 He took pride in Egypt’s honourable and unwavering stances in support to Bahrain, adding that the Kingdom firmly backs Egypt in all circumstances, led by President el-Sisi.

 He prayed to Allah the Almighty to preserve joint fraternal ties, protect Egypt and its brotherly people from any harm and bless them with further security, stability, progress and prosperity.

HM the King and President el-Sisi held a talk session in Cairo. 

HM the King expressed appreciation of the Egyptian President’s warm welcome and generous hospitality. He congratulated President el-Sisi on the success of the latest referendum on the constitutional amendments and the high turnout of all categories of the Egyptian people.   

President el-Sisi welcomed the royal visit that reflects the honourable stances of Bahrain in support of Egypt and its people and in boosting joint Arab action. 

The two leaders highlighted keenness to further promote the solid bilateral relations and strategic cooperation in various fields to serve their mutual interests. 

HM the King stressed mutual resolve to broaden cooperation, consultation and coordination of various issues, developments and challenges seen by the region. 

HM the King praised the Bahraini-Egyptian relations, looking forward to developing them to achieve the goals of the two countries and their people. 

HM the King welcomed Egypt’s supportive stances toward Bahrain under the leadership of President el-Sisi, and his efforts to reinforce cooperation between the two countries. HM the King also praised the development and growth witnessed by all fields. He pointed out Egypt’s pivotal role in protecting Arab interests and national security, as well as establishing peace and stability in the region. 

President el-Sisi highlighted HM the King’s efforts to strengthen the fraternal ties between the countries and their people, affirming that the Bahraini-Egyptian relation is a role model to follow by Arab leaders. 

Arab, regional and international developments and topics of joint interests were discussed, in addition to joining forces to maintain peace and stability in the region. 

The two leaders stressed that the current stage requires boosting Arab solidarity and cooperation to jointly address the challenges faced by Arab countries, chiefly terrorism, extremism and interfering in their internal affairs. 

In honour of HM the King, President el-Sisi hosted an Iftar banquet marking the royal visit to the Republic of Egypt.
