Manama, May 20 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has received well-wishers from Bahrain’s four governorates marking the holy month of Ramadan, as part of the royal keenness to meet Bahrainis during the blessed month.
Following a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, HM the King delivered a speech, in which he welcomed the well-wishers.
"In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate
Dear brothers and sisters
Peace and God's mercy and blessings be upon you
First, we would like to thank you for your benign direct contact that is a source a happiness for us. We greet you in an annual meeting that we are keen to celebrate to mark the month of mercy and forgiveness with its values and noble meanings that call for goodness and righteousness. Our sincere congratulations to you all on these blessed days and our prayers to God for further blessings by accepting our deeds.
We are proud of the attitudes of the people of Bahrain on all occasions and over the years. Both its men and women have been steadfast in enriching the process of national development in terms of dedication, knowledge and construction. They have worked wholeheartedly to nurture our national values and to consolidate our human ideals, demonstrating the best and highest degree of responsibility towards everything that affects our security and stability.
We are fully convinced that our vivacious national fabric is our first line of defense for the cohesion of our internal front thanks to its steadfast ability to repel all forms of violence and extremism and to thwart any attempts to provoke strife by keeping away from the misuse of social media.
Social media must be used for the good of the country and its people and must be a tool for construction not destruction. We have directed in this regard the competent security services to put a strict end to this [negative tendency] since there is no place among us for those who break the law.
In light of the latest developments in the region, we praise the great efforts of our brother the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and we welcome his initiatives and his generous invitation to us to take part, along the leaders of the Arab and Islamic countries in the Makkah meetings. We stress that we stand by his blessed efforts to unify the positions of Muslims and to elevate their status.
We reiterate our welcome to you and we express our great pleasure in meeting you, asking about your situation and listening to your aspirations.
We pray to God Almighty that peace and harmony prevail among the peoples of the world and for many returns of the season of worship and devotion with everyone in the best condition and our beloved nation enjoying security, progress and prosperity.
Peace and God's mercy and blessings be upon you."
In their speeches, the representatives of the governorates offered their best wishes, praised HM the King's leadership and expressed their patriotism and allegiance.
They lauded HM the King for his interest in the wellbeing of all citizens and in ensuring the best living standards.
