HM King receives Middle East Policy Council's delegation

Manama, Feb. 11 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa today at the Safriya Palace received a delegation from the Middle East Policy Council comprising Board member, former US ambassador to Bahrain, Ronald Newman, Board Chairman Richard Schmierer and Board Executive Director, former US ambassador to Oman, Dr. Thomas R. Mateer. 

HM the King lauded the longstanding friendship relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United States that span more than 120 years, which are highlighted by constant cooperation and coordination in various fields in the interest of the two countries and their peoples. 

HM the King pointed out the vital role of the American Administration in establishing security, stability and peace at the regional and global levels. 

HM the King noted the values of cohesion, tolerance and generous hospitality enjoyed by Bahraini people who embrace various religions and sects. He pointed out Bahraini women’s participation at various levels and the Bahraini people's respect for their achievements for decades. 

HM the king touched on a number of political issues and discussed the latest regional and international developments, in addition to topics of joint interests. 

HM the King commended the role of the Middle East Policy Council in organizing forums and preparing political and security studies that benefit the Middle East. 
Board Chairman Schmierer expressed appreciation of HM the King’s generous hospitality and warm reception, lauding the comprehensive development seen in various field under the royal leadership.
