Manama, Dec.27 (BNA): Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh received Information Affairs Ministry’s Advisor for Communication and International Relations, Mohannad Sulaiman Al-Noaimi, who presented the National Platform for Blood Donation (Hayat +), presented by Mohannad Sulaiman Al Noaimi to the Government Innovation Competition (FIKRA), which was launched by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
During the meeting which was attended by Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) Central Blood Bank Chief Fakhriya Abdulrahman, the minister praised the innovative idea, stressing the ministry’s keen interest in adopting such initiatives and enhancing creative practices to deliver premium services to citizens and residents.
She stressed Bahrain’s drive to engage into digital transformation, announcing that the ministry would adopt the National Platform for Blood Donation (Hayat +) as part of efforts to develop services and enhance efficiency.
Sulaiman said that the National Platform for Blood Donation (Hayat +) is an interactive smart platform that supports Bahrain’s efforts in the health sector, using cutting edge digital technologies to communicate with donors .
SMC Central Blood Bank Chief Fakhriya Abdulrahman expressed support to such innovative ideas, adding that the bank has achieved self-sufficiency, collecting more than 30,000 blood bags annually.
She pointed out that the number of regular blood donors has exceeded 35,000, stressed the bank’s capability to meet the needs of 20 hospitals in Bahrain.
