Sharm el-Sheikh, Feb.23 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa arrived today in Egypt, at the invitation of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, to take part in the first Arab-EU Summit, which will open tomorrow, Sunday, in Sharm el-Sheikh.
HM the King was received on arrival at Sharm el-Sheikh Internaional Airport, by Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouli, Bahrain’s Ambassador to Egypt Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa and other senior Egyptian officials.
HM the King lauded deep-rooted historic and fraternal relations binding the two countries and peoples, hailing Egypt’s pivotal regional and international role, led by President el-Sisi.
He commended President el-Sisi for hosting the first Arab-EU Summit to discuss together ways of ensuring a future which is more secure and prosperous for countries and peoples.
“This summit is built on solid bases of strategic partnership and deep relations between the Arab and EU countries, reflecting strong determination to confront common political, economic and security challenges“, said HM the King.
He said that the summit reflects firm desire to achieve more progress and prosperity for peoples by strengthening collective work and bolstering copperation towards supporting regional and international stability and security.
HM the King expressed confidence that the submit would herald a new phase of cooperation, relationships and partnesrhips between the Arab and EU states on all levels.
He underlined concerted efforts, capabilities and potential to achieve all hopes and aspirations and give a strong push for a quantum leap forward in relations so as to attain shared interests.
